The PCC and NHLF Project Team at St Peter’s are working with Julian Haggett, international concert organist and educator (London and Norwich, UK).  Julian is passionate about bringing the organ to new audiences in the community. He is renowned as an outreach educator engaging schools with organ projects in the UK in partnership with major grant bodies such as the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Julian has very kindly agreed to produce 3 short introductory Videos which will be available to local schools and schoolchildren during Summer 2022.  These cover:

  1. A history of our churches and music: part 1
  2. A history of our churches and music: part 2
  3. How a pipe organ works

A further “Music & Heritage” video is aimed at an adult audience from local groups and the wider community and can be found below.  The history of Merton church is contextualised within the development of the Church of England in communities, with a focus on music, choirs and the organ.
